Aside from being a comfy café with good coffee and vegetarian food, Epicentre also has thousands of books in stock.

We have a wide range of books from all manner of subject matter. We have a large collection of SciFi/Fantasy/Horror books and try to keep around a third of the stock as childrens books. We also have a good amount of novels in vintage editions and classic hardbacks that are over a hundred years old.

If you can't find the book that you're looking for or you're looking for a book that you know can be hard to find, Epicentre also specialises in tracking down those hard to find books. We have a good network of other second hand bookshops around Britain and North America where we can track down the book that you're after.

While most of the books at Epicentre are second hand, we do stock a collection of new books written by local authors and poets. Some of these people perform at the spoken word nights, so if you've seen someone perform that you've liked and want to know more of their stuff, we probably stock their book.

All of the second hand books are priced as maked on the inside. Our customers are more than welcome to sit and read a book with their coffee or lunch to see if they like it before buying it. You can also put it back on the shelf and pick it back up the next time you're in (assuming no one's bought it in the meantime).
